New Year, New Me (But let's be realistic)

I’ve never been one for “new year, completely new me.”
But new year, small positive tweaks? I’m all in.

For me, this year is about feeling better, and choosing things that genuinely fit into real life. So I wanted to share a few Norfolk-based gems (and one wearable I’m loving) that are either already part of my routine or firmly on my 2026 hit list.

If you’re feeling like a gentle reset rather than a total overhaul, this one’s for you.

GAIN Fitness Norwich

GAIN Fitness is one of those places that just gets it. No intimidation, no pressure - just a brilliant setup whether you’re starting from scratch or training towards specific goals.

They offer up to 7 classes a day, covering everything from gymnastics, hyrox, weightlifting and cardio, all designed to be engaging and genuinely motivating.

I love going with my friends - we always have such a laugh whilst working out!

The Lions’ Den Norwich

This one is firmly on my must-try list - and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things.

The Lions’ Den have just opened their second premises in Norwich city centre, and it sounds incredible. Great coffee, Delicious food, Norwich’s first alcohol-free late bar, Studio spaces & treatment rooms, A large community sauna, Two rooftop saunas, ice baths, and sweeping city views!

This feels like such a positive shift, and I can’t wait to experience it for myself.

Exhale Healthy Coffee

Healthy coffee… who knew?!

I’ve been using Exhale Coffee at home for a while now, and I honestly love it. It’s reassuring to know that it’s free from moulds, mycotoxins, and pesticides, and packed with vitamins.

It still tastes great (very important), but it feels like a small upgrade that supports energy levels without the crash. Proof that wellness doesn’t have to mean giving everything up - sometimes it’s just choosing a better version of what you already enjoy.

WHOOP BAND

Understanding my body better. I’ve recently started wearing a WHOOP band, and so far - so good.

What I love most is how insightful it is without being overwhelming. It tracks:

  • Sleep

  • Daily activity & steps

  • Recovery and strain

  • Overall trends in how my body is coping

What really sets WHOOP apart is that it helps you understand why you feel the way you do. It encourages better sleep, smarter workouts, and more rest - not just doing more, but doing things better.

This year, I also want to start running again. I’ve completely slipped off the bandwagon, and honestly, I really miss it. It’s one of those things that clears my head as much as it moves my body. I love that it’s free, requires very little planning, and I can fit it around work and the school pick-ups and drop-offs. No pressure, no targets - just getting out, moving, and finding my rhythm again.

Here’s to positive tweaks, not pressure!
